Well first of all welcome to my little corner of the internet and I hope you find your visit here enjoyable, educational and at times amusing
I am a professional driver. In 2015 I would go to a CDL school and would graduate a couple of months later. For whatever the reason I decided the best way to advance my new chosen career was to head to a large carrier so I picked Schneider National. For the next seven years I would drive for them in both the United States and Canada
Then one day Schneider National decided they did not like Canada anymore and left the country, I am not kidding. Well it was time for a change anyway and after living out of a truck for seven years it was time to get back to a somewhat normal life and began looking at home daily CDL work
I posted my resume on Indeed and within hours I had three job offers. One I said no to because they only had manual transmission trucks and it had been six years since I have handled a stick. The next one I said no to for their yard was forty five minutes away and the thought of driving an extra hour and a half each day just to get to and from work did not sit to well. The one I did pick, and the company I still drive for, handles auto parts on basically dedicated routes. Not sure how happy they would be if I told you what company I now drive for so lets just say its a big one that is located throughout North America
Purpose Of CDL-Truckdriver.com
There is a ton of misinformation out there regarding truck driving and it is time that the veil is lifted so people who are thinking of getting their CDL and becoming professional truck drivers enter this industry with their eyes wide open.
I am not a recruiter who is trying to convince you to join the greatest company in the world. I am not going to tell you that you will earn $100,000 a year right out of the gate. I am not going to try to convince you that leasing a truck through a company is the best decision you will ever make
What I will do is tell you about the reality of the trucking industry. The good, the bad and the ugly.
If there is a topic that I have not covered just leave a comment and I will get to it. IF you ask a question about a specific area that I have no information about I will tell you
